MEXICO DAY 13

This was our stay at home day, but the rock pounder drove us away. So we decided to walk down to Santa Cruz and see if we could find Jose Luis (last year's driver) to take us out on a boat tour the next day. I asked around for him but he was not to be found. We tried a new spot for lunch.(new for us)  It was very good. There is an odd thing here. Last year when the boat stopped at a busy bay, two guys came running down to the water and took  our stuff up to their restaurant. Jose told us to go with them and sit at their place, they would watch our gear while we swam and we did not have to buy anything and could drink our own drinks. We found that odd and awkward so we bought our drinks and food. Then the other day we were at the beach and we saw a boat come in, a gal ran down and met the boat and packed their cooler up for them , and it was  big,, and they just sat there eating and drinking their own stuff,, then she carried the cooler back down for them. While having lunch today, a huge group of Mexicans came in and the waiter ran around getting tables set up for them all together and then they proceeded to eat their own food. I don't understand.

At any rate we bought our lunch which was shrimp and mighty good. There was a wedding taking place in the church beside us. We left there and were able to listen to the music from the wedding as we went. There was a lovely breeze and we sure enjoyed it.

You can hear the waves in the background

Marv wanted to go swimming in the ocean and as he walked over to the water, a fellow approached him. This is far from unusual but as I listened to them talking I kept thinking how much he sounded like Jose. I knew it was not Jose but sure sounded like him. I had suspected if we told people we were looking for him and then hung around the area the word would get out. This turned out to be his brother,or so he says. At any rate a deal was struck and we are taking a boat trip today. (Since I am typing this the morning after the current days events.)

We came back to the condo and had a great surprise. The rock pounder had moved to behind our building. We can still hear it in the background but that is nothing compared to what we were going through. The fog has cleared off the humidity is gone . We played cards on the  balcony as usual then after Dennis and Karen went to bed we still sat out there looking at the lights and enjoying how peaceful it was.
