MEXICO DAY 14

Today was a really fun day. We started out at 9:00 down at the dock in Santa Cruz and headed out to tour the bays.

The guys wanted to do some fishing. This is not the fishing tour that they offer but a combination of fishing, site seeing and beach time.

Dennis caught one of these guys, then Marv caught one and as he was pulling his in Dennis caught a second one. Our guide said they are good eating, we saved them but left them for the guide
Karen wanted to try her hand at fishing so Marv gave her his rod to use and she hooked a tuna.
It was a good size one and Dennis took over.
The guide said that down at the docks you could sell it for 800 pesos.
But that did not happen,, we stopped at a restaurant at Maguey bay and they cooked it for us in two different ways. Both ways were extremely good.

The guide took this photo and that is his plate you see. We asked him to join us. You could certainly see he enjoyed it immensely and it was a fun lunch with a spattering of Spanish  English and much laughter.
The only dampener was I saw a fellow that we bought some stuff from on our last trip here was sitting to the side looking on like a child watching another child get all the good gifts. The longing in his eyes still brings tears to my eyes as I type this. I am not sure how else we could have handled it I am sure the owners would not want us asking the beach sellers to join our table.

Any ways after we ate we swam in the ocean, it was warmer than the other day and the waves were fun. It was very busy at the beach with lots of boats bringing in more people. There are very few non Mexicans here but we do not feel out of place or uncomfortable in fact just the opposite. The locals are very proud of their place and I don't blame them. It is a unique part of Mexico , at least  as Mexican tourist destinations go.
The ride home was alot of fun it was much rougher and like a ride at the PNE

We came home and swam in the pool then dinner and a game of cards on the deck pretty much finished off our evening. We are looking forward to sleeping in until at least after 7. The workers were not here when we got back and don't expect them to be here Sunday either.

Karen had great fun saying how she caught the biggest fish ( if she said it once , she said it a 100 times lol ) so the guys made a special request that I give them credit too. So to recap it,, the guide took us to a good place to catch the fish,Karen used Marv's rod to hook it and Dennis landed it.  :)

We took lots of scenery photos but I will blog about them later in the holiday when we have much quieter days and not much to say .
