Day 7, a day of frustrations. I took a shower only to run out of hot water almost right away. I told Marv and he discovered that the hot water tank had the pilot light going but had not been turned on. So he solved that. How did we go a week without hot water you might ask. Well we had taken our showers in the late afternoon and neither one of us had bothered to wait for the water to get hot, we were cooling down. I had mentioned that all the appliances are really nice and yet the dishes were not coming out clean.
Next thing a couple of hours later we find we have NO water at all. So we contacted Miguel who came right over and said he had to turn it on somewhere else. Not sure why it was turned off. Maybe it had been off all along and we had just finally emptied the tank.
Ok those things while frustrating were resolved quickly but this final one is a huge issue. I don't know if I mentioned the construction below us. The first few days we were here nothing was happening and it was quiet. Then one day the hammering started. Not as nice for sure but not a big issue. But then they turned on an air compressor and it runs a rock drill. Well you can't be outside when its going its so loud. We had to be inside with the windows closed and still it was loud. If it keeps up I don't know what we will do. They stopped the drill at 6:30 and the hammering at 7.
The new condo being built, its not really in our view from the balcony so not an issue except for the rock drill and compressor.
This is where they live. They work hard. Start at 7:30 , take a break mid day and finish at 7 at night. There is about 20 of them not sure if they all stay there or not. They are quiet some laughing at supper time but then its quiet. We had hoped they would go home last night since today is Saturday but nope.
We got up this am and I said to Marv enjoy the peace and quiet , minutes later this roared up.
Marv says it will soon be followed by a cement truck, I don't care as long as they don't run that damn compressor.
