Darn I slept in I and woke up to the sound of the rock drill. That's what happens when you stay up with the big boys. Normally I go to sleep to the sound of them chattering away outside my window. On the positive side Marv was up and coffee was made.
So day 13, here's how it went. We had a big breakfast and packed up grabbed a couple of cabs and we were off on a new adventure. We had our piece of paper with the name of the beach on it. I don't recall the name right now but in English it would be rabbit beach. Saw no rabbits and thank goodness nothing else on land. The drive was beautiful past lots of nice hotels and nice roads. At one point our guy stopped and got out and spoke to the other driver then hopped back in and off we went again. Then suddenly the ride was over and it was time to get out at the side of the road with instructions walk 5 minutes and with a bunch of sign language we arranged for them to come get us in 2 hours. So we started the walk,,,,it was a dirt path that led through thick forest of trees down hill to the beach we hoped. Well if you are reading this you can imagine where my head is at,,, snakes,,,i have purposely not read up on snakes in Mexico. No one was particularly happy except Dakota, looking for anything that moved and listening to his grandmother saying Don't tell me if you see anything, tell me when we are back in the condo. At any rate, we reached the bottom and were rewarded.
On this beach are a few boats and a couple of structures for shade. Under one of them amongst the fishing lines are two guys. One comes over and sets up a couple of table and chairs for us and leaves. Dakota and Jer went snorkeling, Marv walked the beach and Jody and I sat out looking at the view.Jer saw a sting ray and marv a bunch of crab. Shortly another guy arrived and opened up a window and I am not sure what he all he sells but he sells cold beer. We had arranged to have the cabs pick us up at 12:15 and we remembered that long hike down to the beach and gave ourselves lots of time to get back up, sure didnt want to be stranded. Oddly enough the long walk down did not seem as long walking up to the road. I suppose because we knew where we were going this time. Once we were back at the road a number of cabs offered to pick us up but we waited for our guys. We stood around for 45 minutes, first 30 because we were early , last 15 because we didnt want to jerk the guys around. Eventually we all bailed into one cab and went to the the next resort where all the big hotels are. We wandered about and found a place to eat.
The food was really good and much cheaper than other places we had eaten at.The meals are large Marv and I ended us sharing and still can't eat it all. We had a good time and plan to go back. We poked around some stores then grabbed a taxi home. I don't know what happened to our taxi drivers but we were having a communication problem and maybe when we said 2 hours they thought 2 o'clock.
We went down to the pool and eventually another couple joined us. They are condo owners from Calgary. So we had an interesting visit with them. We had dinner and played our card game and all in all it was a very good day.
