MINI RETREAT ON SALT SPRING ISLAND

I found a good deal on Groupon and we headed over to Salt Spring Island. We had not been there in about 30 years. Marv says he would not suggest we wait that long for our next visit lol

If you have read about my recent mini vacations you will know we always leave in the rain

It took about an hour to arrive at the ferry teriminal and our trip was 3 hours, the ferry stops at 3 islands before we get to ours. It makes for a  really nice trip, it stopped raining but was still fairly socked in so not as  pretty as it can be..

Destination the Harbour House, looks like we are the only guests but that was not the case, I have never seen such a busy lot.  We were given the best  room in the hotel  and it was awesome. We paced it out, the room was 20 x 40 and that does not count the huge bathroom.

They have a huge garden area and pride themselves in serving organically grown veggies from their gardens. I expect to see these mini green houses showing up in my yard one day. Marv was busy studying the construction lol. I said don't even think about it for this year, you still have pool to open and stuff :)

It was a cool damp night but we were happy on our balcony which was also huge you can see less than half of it in this photo.

The next day was still cool but we did some touring around and enjoyed the hotel. The last day we left at 3:00 and it was a beautiful day, sunny and warm. We had a late check out and really enjoyed the day. Oh I forgot to mention I had the best breakfast the I have ever had. It was candied salmon, eggs benny. AMAZING
Trip home was so enjoyable we sat outside all the way there was no wind and it felt lovely to have some sun after this damp spring.

It was a very relaxing and enjoyable trip

Next trip next month to Oregon
