Mexico Day 1

It was almost a year ago that we left this port and said oh we would love to come back some time and stay for a few weeks. We don't have to stay at that fancy place on the hill but just some place clean and safe. Here I sit typing this from the balcony of the very place on the hill over looking the port where the cruise ships come in. There is no ship until Wed. - when it comes in its a very big deal around here.

We were picked up at the airport by a driver the condo owner sent and we when we arrived at the condo we were met by two of the people who are to help us with "what ever" while we are here. The first "what ever" was that she dropped us off at Super Che so that we could get supplies. This was such a culture shock for us,, its Sooo Mexican. We have been to several ports in Mexico but we were there as a group of tourists being catered to. Although it seems silly but it was so strange to not know what you were buying in the grocery store and contrary to what everyone told me,, oh they all speak English and take US dollars, nope,,, they do all speak Spanish and take Pesos though lol

I am very excited about this holiday its going to be such an experience. We have never been on a 5 week holiday nor have we spent any time part of another culture. A tour boat was in the harbour last night and it was full, the guide was speaking Spanish. The only other people we have seen in the condo are two Mexican families so we are assuming this is the place the Mexicans come to vacation too.

Super Che - when you come in the door there is loud music playing which seems so strange but you get used to it quickly. The store has pretty much everything. Well everything but Gin lol.  Marvin picked up a box of beer and a gal comes up to me and starts chattering away in Spanish. I explain that I don't understand. She looks surprised , actually shocked lol and then proceeded to pull beer cartons off the shelf until she found what she was looking for and said in frio,, i said oh Cold she said see, and i said frio and she said cold and we both laughed. Marvin being a Gingo was not part of the action lol, Off she went to continue her shopping.

We were surprised that prices were so high and veggies not so good and the place was busy so its the place to shop. We picked up some chicken (nice colour to it not like the white skinned stuff we get at home).

Its hard to keep a smile on this guys face he is soooo out of his element.

Not much to add to these photos, started swimming my laps yesterday, what a view eh!
